With a style that has been variously described as "passionate," "fiercely vigorous," and even "humorous," Brad Edwards has appeared as a soloist before audiences around the country. His solo credits include radio and television broadcasts, premieres of new music, guest recitals at colleges and regional workshops, and concertos with student and professional orchestras and wind ensembles. He was a featured soloist and recitalist with the United States Army Band at the Eastern Trombone Workshop in Washington D.C. As a member of the United States Air Force Concert Band in Washington D.C., he was twice featured as a soloist. He has performed with such ensembles as the Baltimore Symphony, the Kennedy Center Opera Orchestra, the brass choir of the National Symphony, Hartford Symphony, the Charleston Symphony, the Charlotte Symphony and the Baltimore Opera Orchestra. He has shared the stage with such diverse artists as Ray Charles, Dave Brubeck, Olivia Newton John, Wynona Judd, the Gatlin Brothers, Robert Merrill, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy and Roger Daltry. In 2007, he was selected to be participant at the prestigious Alessi Seminar in New Mexico.

Dr. Edwards teaches trombone at the University of South Carolina School of Music and is the Principal Trombonist of both the Augusta Symphony Orchestra and the South Carolina Philharmonic. Previously, he taught at the University of Northern Iowa and played principal trombone Waterloo/Cedar Falls Symphony. Dr. Edwards has also taught at Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster Pennsylvania; the Peabody Institute of Music, the Hartford Conservatory of Music and Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut as well as the South Carolina Governor's School for the Arts and Kinhaven Music School in Vermont. During the summers he currently teachers at the Carolina Summer Music Conservatory.

He has published one composition, Blue Wolf (available from Southern Music), and two books, Introductory Studies in Tenor and Alto Clef: Before Blazhevich and Lip Slurs: Progressive Exercises for the Development of Tone and Technique, both available through Ensemble Publications. (available from from Hickeys Music). He has composed the official fanfares for five International Trombone Weeks. Dr. Edwards holds degrees from the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University, the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and the Hartt School of Music. His primary teachers have been Jim Olin, Tony Chipurn, Ronald Borror and Henry Schmidt. He has also studied with Joseph Alessi, Arnold Jacobs, Dave Fedderly and Milt Stevens.
